Mavis
Staples(USA) on tour
from July 21st to 25th, 2010
Mavis Staples
is the most underrated diva of the century. She has an
almost superhuman ability to implant the pure power of
passion and emotion." Rolling Stones A 40-year-plus veteran of the music scene
- a Rock
And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and one
of "100
Greatest Women of Rock and Roll" -
Staples (both with The Staple Singers and on
her own) is responsible for blazing a rhythm & blues
trail while never relinquishing her gospel roots.
Her new CD Live: Hope at the Hideout (nominated
Best Contemporary Blues Album) was recorded in June
of this year at the Hideout Club in Chicago. This small
capacity venue created an intimate setting for her
rhythm and blues styling. Mavis may be 69 years old,
but she has lost none of her vocal power and energy.
She not only sings, but also in a real way preaches
her message.
Her importance in both the music world and as a driving
force of social change makes her a true icon - an artist
who continues to create music that will inspire a whole
new generation of people to have faith in the healing
and uplifting power of her remarkable gift.
Larry
Carlton (USA) on tour from July 21st to 30th, 2010
Eighteen-time Grammy
nominee, three-time Grammy winner and all-time guitar great,
Larry Carlton established himself from his first recording,
A Little Help From My Friends. His studio credits include musicians and groups like
Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Michael Jackson, Sammy Davis Jr.,
Herb Alpert, Quincy Jones, Bobby Bland, Dolly Parton, Linda
Ronstadt and literally dozens of others. He went on to perform
with the Crusaders and then with the multi platinum jazz super
group Fourplay. With 30 albums to his credit and having performed
on over 100 albums that have gone Gold or Platinum, Larry Carlton
has set a standard for artistry that spans three decades.
"He is a
virtual deity - a living legend" Guitar Player Jimmie Vaughan
is far more than just one of the greatest and most respected
guitarists in the world of popular music. As Guitar
Player magazine notes, “He is a virtual
deity--a living legend.”
After all, Vaughan provides a vital link between contemporary music and its proud
heritage, as well as being a longtime avatar of retro cool. Since releasing his
first solo album in 1994, he has set the standard for quality modern roots music.
Throughout his career, Vaughan has earned the esteem of his legendary guitar-playing
heroes and superstar peers along with successive generations of young players.
His musical ethos and personal style have had
an impact on contemporary culture, from spearheading
the current blues revival with The Fabulous Thunderbirds
to his longtime, innate fashion sense of slicked-back
hair and sharp vintage threads (now seen throughout
the pages of contemporary fashion journals) to
becoming a premier designer of classic custom
cars. But for Jimmie Vaughan, none of it is part
of a crusade or a career plan. It’s just
his natural way of living his life and pursuing
the interests that have captivated Vaughan since
his youth.
That’s how James Hunter describes the outpouring
of praise and acceptance for his 2006 album, People
Gonna Talk. Issued in March 2006 on GO Records/Rounder,
the Grammy-nominated People Gonna Talk was the singer/songwriter/guitarist’s
first Stateside release after two decades of performing
and recording in his native Britain.
In support of his album, James and his skin-tight band performed everywhere from
hole-in-the-wall clubs to the Hollywood Bowl; they headlined
in smaller venues and supported the likes of Aretha Franklin, Los Lonely
Boys, Boz Scaggs, and Van Morrison in
larger ones. The mellifluous R&B of People Gonna Talk,
with its affectionate echoes of Sam Cooke and Jackie
Wilson, became an airplay staple on some of the nation’s
most influential radio stations. The Los Angeles Times praised
James Hunter’s “extraordinary soul voice”; Rolling
Stone called his album “a treat not to miss."
By the year’s end, People Gonna Talk was among the Top
Ten “Best Albums of 2006” as
cited by Mojo,
USA Today pop critic Ken Barnes, and the WFUV/New York listeners’ poll,
to name a few. People Gonna Talk was nominated for a Grammy
Award for Best Traditional Blues Album and James himself was
nominated as Best New/Emerging Artist in the annual Americana
Music Awards.
No wonder James Hunter’s second U.S. album, The Hard Way (due out on Hear
Music in June 2008), is among this year’s most eagerly anticipated new
releases. In terms of both inspiration and quotation, James has taken much from
the musical past—as he will be the first to admit. But it’s his own
infectious sound and inventive songwriting, blessedly free of slavish mimicry
or retrograde nostalgia, that today’s audiences
are responding to.

Kenny
Neal Band (USA) on tour from
June 24th to July 4th, 2010
One of a mere handful
of truly inventive
young contemporary guitarist... Kenny is known as a modern
swamp-blues master and multi-instrumentalist, that draws
musically from the sizzling sounds of his native Louisiana. He was born in New Orleans and
raised in Baton Rouge, began playing music at a very young
age, learning the basics from his father, singer and blues
harmonica master, Raful Neal.
Family friends like Lazy Lester, Buddy Guy and Slim Harpo also contributed to
Kenny's early musical education. In fact, it was Harpo who gave the crying three-year-old
his first harmonica to pacify him. Along the way, he also mastered the bass,
trumpet, piano and guitar.
Now is coming with a new CD
"Let Life Flow".

Cedric
Burnside & Lightnin Malcolm(USA) on tour from
July 15th to 20th, 2009 CEDRIC BURNSIDE, grandson
of the legendary R.L. Burnside, son of drummer great Calvin
Jackson, is widely regarded as one of the best drummers in
the world.
Cedric was born in 1978 and raised around Holly Springs, Miss., and has been
playing music all his life, developing a relentless, highly rhythmic charged
style with strong hip-hop and funk influences.
Bluesman LIGHTNIN' MALCOLM
is one of the leading, younger generation artists on the scene
today. Born in rural Missouri,
Malcolm enjoyed the freedom of country life, quickly learning
to entertain himself and others around him. Growing up in a
little village called Burgess in a country house next to the
KCS Railroad that ran from Kansas City to New Orleans, the
train has always been a theme in Malcolm's music, as well as
the inspiration for the steady, insistent bass rhythms of rural
dance music. Now that he has joined forces with
powerhouse drummer and vocalist Cedric Burnside, Lightnin' Malcolm feels like
his calling is now.
After releasing its incredible, self-titled debut, Juke Joint Duo,
in 2007, the band was quick to get back in the studio — this
time in Austin, TX. Recorded in just 5 days at Austin's
Out The Woodwork Studios, Cedric
Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm's newest record “2
Man Wrecking Crew” is a blazing testament to where it's been — and
where it's going.
Look out for the new record coming soon in 2008!

Defying category, without defying the techniques, authenticity

and dangerous high wire act this band has been balancing
expertly year after year, award after award, show after

His is a sophisticated, well-informed and progressive definition of the blues

Sonny
Landreth Band(USA) on tour
from July 16th to 25th, 2010 collaboration with Blue
Sky Promotion
"He is probably
the most underestimated musician on the planet, and also
probably one of the most advanced.!" Eric Clapton Raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Landreth played in local bands before accepting an invitation to join Clifton Chenier's Red Hot Louisiana Band. Learning from the "king of Zydeco," Landreth developed a virtuosity in a range of blues settings, which surfaced on his debut album, Blues Attack, in 1981.
In the years that followed, Landreth continued to sharpen his extraordinary playing chops while also building a reputation as a singer and songwriter of exceptional sensitivity to his geographical and artistic roots. Word spread throughout the music world, and Landreth began getting pulled into a busy schedule of sessions. His catalog now includes work with rock guitar giant Leslie
West, harmonica legend Junior
Wells, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits fame, country superstar Dolly
Parton, the great Cajun
band Beausoleil, British blues pioneer John
Mayall, and singer/songwriters John
Hiatt, Kenny Loggins, Marshall Crenshaw to name a few.
In the spirit of a blues homecoming Landreth revisits the roots that have shaped his life and sound.
Popa
Chubby(USA) on tour
July, 2010 collaboration with Blue Sky
Promotion
The ever-prolific Popa
Chubby returns with a new CD of hard-hitting rock'n'
roll, Deliveries
After Dark, a collection
of balls-out Blues/Rock played with reckless abandon,
no apologies, visceral and heavy, with a few surprises
thrown in - such as the theme from "The Godfather" rearranged
as a surf guitar instrumental, and the spacey and evocative
" Woman
In My Bed Dub," a reggae tune as thick with smoke
as a Kingston club.
Elsewhere, Chubby indulges his need for speed with the
road-raging "Deliveries After Dark," and revved-up
boogie of "Sally
Likes To Run," while "Let
The Music Set You Free" lays out Chubby's philosophy
over a swaggering, rock solid riff. With Deliveries After
Dark, Popa Chubby continues to rule the road with his
high-octane ax work and uncompromising, in your face
attitude, resulting in a supercharged mix that spits
fire at every turn.
His talents extend from
washboard, congas and other hand percussion, drum kit, lead
and background vocals, to songwriting and arranging.
Chaz's talents are becoming synonymous with New Orleans
and he was recently featured in a 2005 New Orleans
commercial. He is currently playing a small part
in the upcoming CBS movie titled "Just Like the Ones",
about miraculous snow storms that hit all over the
country, co-starring Mary Tylor Moore and Poppy Montgomery.
Chaz has shared the stage with Bonnie Raitt, John Hammond, Taj Mahal,
Anders Osborne and Corey Harris among others. He has
opened for many blues greats, including Muddy Waters, Robert Cray, Doc
Watson and Keb Mo.
Chaz's musical talents have been featured on over 70 recordings, including John
Hammond's 1998 Grammy nominated "Long as I have You"
d del 1998 per il Grammy con la canzone “Long as I have You”.
Roy Roberts became
hooked on music while growing up in a small town in Tennessee,
listening to blues and R&B on radio stations WLAC
out of Nashville.
Before long, Roy was backing
up major artists who came through town.
One of those artists, Solomon Burke,
took young Roy under his wing after letting him sit
in as a bass player during a local gig. He was soon
handling the guitar chores behind the future soul legend
on tour.
Roberts subsequently picked up touring gigs with such
luminaries as Eddie
Floyd, “Little” Stevie Wonder, Dee Clark,
and Otis Redding,
while fronting his own band, The Roy Roberts Experience,
on the regional club scene and Southeastern beach town
circuit. Roy began to cut records in the mid-sixties,
staying mostly behind the scenes as a session man.
Roy continues to record and produce records for his
label, and tours the U.S. and Europe regularly. After
receiving numerous awards, Roy has earned his place
among the finest artists playing blues today.

Gnola and his band.
The Heart Of A Bluesman
And The Soul Of An Innovator!
Sugar Blue incorporates what
he has learned into his visionary and singular style, technically
dazzling yet wholly soulful. He bends, shakes, spills flurries
of notes with simultaneous precision and abandon, combining
dazzling technique with smoldering expressiveness and gives
off enough energy to light up several city square blocks...
And sings too! His distinctive throat tends to be overlooked
in the face of his instrumental virtuosity - he's got a rich,
sensual voice with a whisper of huskiness which by itself would
be something out of the ordinary.
But oh, there's that harmonica again... !!

Morblus stands for American Blues made in Italy that
captures the audience with its exceptional sound
of Funk, Blues, Rhythm & Blues and Soul.
The Band founded in 1991 has a wide repertorie of
blues classics, modern soul pieces and original compositions.
With an unbridled load of adrenaline, the quartet
around frontman Roberto Morbioli evokes a unique
music experience.
The Morblus sound is different: its power and groove
affected by the most different types of music sweeps
the public away more than hardly any other act in
the European music scene.
For this reason, Morblus has already rocked the stage together with numerous
recognised Blues musicians.
This year on tour with Boston's Diane Blue who is a soulful and sassy
performer who delivers the goods vocally and through her harmonica ("harp")
playing, serving up her own spin on soul, blues and R&B.
“Mike Sponza
is contemporary, talented and convincent"
Christophe Mourot - Soul Bag (FR) Mike Sponza is a contemporary blues man from Italy: singer, guitarist, composer, Mike has been performing in Europe since 1992, after starting his musical life in 1985.
Throught the years, Mike Sponza developes a personal
sound, since his discographic debut in 1997 that
shows the interest for the research of a personal
style with common lines in the voice and guitar.
Inspiring artists are Robert Cray, Lucky Peterson,
Joe Louis Walker, John Mayall, Keb 'Mo... Mike
forms his new band in 2004, based on the "organ trio" format:
but the sound does not belong to the past!
Actually, again, contemporary blues is the key
word of the show; original tunes are blended
with a modern repertoire rooted in soul, R&B
and acoustic sounds. The Band is touring extensively
in the Central Europe area.
Louisiana Red has lived
the Blues. And Louisiana Red not only plays the Blues, he lives
it through his guitar and his singing.
Strongly influenced by Muddy Waters, Lightnin‘ Hopkins
and Arthur Crudup, he has long ago found his own voice, his own style, his own
form of expression.
When Red performs, the songs are often only launching pad for expressing his
immediate feelings in the almost lost tradition of spontaneous composition that
goes back to the original Delta Blues artists an even further to the West-African
griot bards.
In a career spanning over half a century, Louisiana Red has played with just
about every major bluesman you can name, some of the most memorable encounters
being his jams with B.B.King and Muddy Waters.
On tour with a new album "Live
At Painted Sky".
Acid Blues Woman
Elizabeth Lee's Cozmic Mojo is the project of three italian musicians
(Cozmic Mojo) with the texas singer Elizabeth Lee.
Because of their non-conventional approach to music, their sound is particular
and alternative. They love to think themselves as blues psychonauts with a great
heart for r'n'r.
Their PSYCHO BLUES'N'ACID ROLL is a mix of styles and intentions.
This band has been bringing it around Europe for about two years in their burning
shows with an always better response of critic and audience.
Multi-Award
winning Blues Diva ‘Dana Gillespie' has been touring the world as
the true ambassador of the risqué blues.
With over 50 albums to her credit, a self-styled Music Festival
in Mustique, support to Bob Dylan,
hit shows in London's West End, at the Edinburgh
Festival, and many other Festivals throughout Europe,
the Middle East, India, and beyond, Dana is truly
an International Blues legend.
Dana recorded her first album at the age of 15. Her music has evolved from folk
in the 60s through 70s Bowie-esque glam-rock to the raunchy in-your-face blues
she performs today. Voted 'Top British Female Blues Vocalist' by the British
Blues Connection and Blueprint Magazine between 1992
and 1996 she has now been elevated into their Hall Of Fame.
Through the years Dana gained the title
of "British Queen of Blues" and
she works in Italy with bluesman Mike Sponza,
without doubt one of the most outstanding
Italian blues artists of the last years.
Session man, author, composer,

Tolo
Marton Band (I) on tour all summer 2010
One of Tolo's notable and distinctive playing characteristics is he really does not repeat himself, because his live performances are very different each time. Improvisation, unpredictable solos and set lists keep audience's attention alive during the whole concert.
He has played in Texas several times and had his overseas highlight when he won the Electric
Guitar Festival, a worldwide competition wich was elded by the Jimi
Hendrix Family in Seattle in 1998. He received the First Prize (senior category) from the hands of Al Hendrix himself: the price was an extremely rare prototype of the Woodstock
tribute white Strat that Jimi played (handcrafted by the luthers of Fender Custom Shop).
As for his main guitar influences, he quotes Rory Gallagher's early style, Nils Lofgren, Jimi Hendrix and Cream.
In Italy Crystal is a well-known
and popular artist thanks to her brilliant and electric
musical career.
She has collaborated with such prestigious names as Zucchero, Ron, Enzo
Avitabile, Eros Ramazzotti, Alex Britti, Tulio de Piscopo and Roberto Ciotti.
She has made numerous Television appearances and soundtracks of the following
films: Duel, A Bear Named Arthur, and Marakesh Express and Sons of Senegal.
But for Crystal, music is just one aspect of her versatile artistic personality. Crystal continues to be a world traveler continuously gathering creative
stimulation and looking for new territories to conquer!!!!
New Orleans-based singer songwriter Lynn Drury's powerful
wail and sultry singing have been compared to such performers
as Lucinda Williams, Bonnie Raitt, Rickie Lee Jones,
Janis Joplin, Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star and even Norah
Jones.
But this Mississippi girl is making her own name
for herself, belting out a breath of fresh air into the
New Orleans music scene and beyond and winning over fans
with a style all her own. Her music blends the funky
sounds of New Orleans with the countrified roots of her rural
upbringing, creating a sound that escapes easy classification.
She's on tour with guitar player Roberto Luti who's
native Italy, but he backed up American musicians such as
John Nicholas.

by the blues but in constant search of new colours rock,
pop, reggae, and contaminations set free from classic idioms.
Henry’s scratchy voice, with its personal timbre, tells
in english stories of life with its everyday, joys and sorrows...
blues stories. The two guitarists alternating in the rythmic
and in solos different and well-distinguished with styles
and sounds, are always pleasant and well-amalgamated with
each other.
The Granny Says band offers a show that strikes you for the
personal and decisive sound, for the excellent arrangements,
for the impeccable rythmic section, and for the sonorities,
which are of the kind one doesn’t easily forget.

Born in Sicily
(Italy's most southern island) and brought up in
Veneto (deep north) she's definitely an uncommon
vocal and songwriting talent.
She won a bursary for composers and singers
for folk music of Venice and Lombardy at Mogol's
school CET and following that experience,
she leaves for a trip to South America in search
of inspiration and she suddendly finds herself singing
one of her early tracks Essenzialmente (Essentially)
on Brazilian radio. Back in Europe this untyring
traveller is off one more time to Spain with her
band, Hotel Rif, going north to

Zibba is a "cantautore" (singer/songwriter)
from Genoa and AlmaLibre is a talented, spark plug of a band,
and their disc is "Senza Smettere di Far Rumore" (without
stopping making noise) on Divinazione/Terzo Millenio.
Although Zibba is rooted
in a lot of modern Italian traditions (Genoa's
legendary Fabrizio DeAndre, older cantautori like Paolo Conti
and newer guys like Vinicio Capossela), he's
a world traveler when it comes to music.
He's not on a major label,
but you already know that doesn't mean he's not a major
talent.
