Boston's DIANE BLUE is a soulful and sassy
performer who delivers the goods vocally and through her harmonica ("harp") playing,
serving up her own spin on soul, blues and R&B.
Juke
joint legend Big Jack Johnson dubbed Ms. Blue “A Monster” on the harp after she performed as his guest
star at Red's Lounge in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Diane's strong, confident
attack and energetic delivery make it nearly impossible to remain in one's
chair.
Ms. Blue was nominated for "Best Blues/R&B Act" and "Best
Female Vocalist" in 2007 by the Providence Phoenix and also nominated "Best
Local Blues Act" by Motif Magazine in 2007.
Diane has played harmonica and/or sung with international performers Sherman
Robertson of Texas, Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson (former sideman for Muddy Waters),
Big Jack Johnson (of Clarksdale, Mississippi) and Irma
Thomas (the Soul Queen
of New Orleans).
In 2008, Ms. Blue toured with the Morblus Band in northern Italy,
and subsequently did a New England tour in early 2009 with Roberto
Morbioli of
Verona, Italy.
Ms. Blue returned to the international stage as the featured singer/harmonica
player in the summer of 2009 with Roberto Morbioli and the Morblus Band
MORBLUS stands for American Blues made in Italy
that captures the audience with its exceptional
sound of Funk, Blues, Rhythm & Blues and Soul.
The band founded in 1991 has a wide repertoire
of blues classics, modern soul pieces and original
compositions.
With an unbridled load of adrenaline,
the quartet around frontman Roberto Morbioli
conjures a unique music experience.
The MORBLUS sound is different: its power and
groove affected by the most different types of music
sweeps the public away more than hardly any other
act in the European music scene.
In Spain, the Netherlands and even in the Home of
Blues, the USA, MORBLUS has by now made its mark
as the most fiery Funky Blues Export from Italy.
For this reason, MORBLUS has already rocked the
stage together with numerous recognised Blues
musicians such as:
Lucky Peterson, Sandra Hall, Chicago "Bob“ Nelson,
Beverly Hammond, Jesse Yawn Steve Smith, Paul Orta, Preston
Shannon, Hush Brown, Blu "Benoit“ Boy,
Michael Coleman, Rudy, Tolo Marton, Louisiana, Mojo Queen,
Billy Coban, Stanley Jordan, Robben
Ford, John Mayall, Stevie Smith, Roomful of Blues,
Nalaya Brown, Waldo Weathers, Robin Brown...
In performing with these and other international
Blues artists, the MORBLUS
sound has matured to an individual and distinctive Blues that
grabs the fans right from the start. At the latest when lead singer
and guitarist Morbioli leaves the stage and with his
Telecaster dives into the audience, everybody shakes
a leg.
Their energetic sound has already obtained
MORBLUS a number of striking performances, for
instance as the support act for the Italy tours of John
Mayall and Robben Ford or in the legendary B.B.
King’s Blues Club in Memphis!
Besides the strong stage presence in the home
country Italy, MORBLUS regularly tours in the
Netherlands and celebrates great successes for years.
